Department of Sociology

An Overview of the Department:

Sociology as a Department was established in the year 2020 with an intake capacity for 30 students in the Honors course. The main objectives of the department are to provide quality education, to emphasizes the socialization skills of the students, and to enrich the knowledge of students in both theory and practice. There are 4 (Four) well-trained faculty members currently engaged in the department.

The major highlights of the Department are:

• The department of Sociology provides a modern classroom environment.

• Time to time evaluation facilities to prepare the students for the final examination.

• Proper guidance facilities to improve the writing skills of the students.

• Weekly seminar, group discussion, and class test.

• Organized parent–teacher meet to make them aware of the academic activities of their students.

• Provide opportunities to the students to develop their inner potentialities through well-organized co-curricular activities.

• Remedial class at any time if required.

• A well-equipped library facility.

• Professional counseling to improve the mental health to help the students to guide in the field of educational, vocational and personal.

Seminar/Workshop/Lecture:

• One-Day Lecture on ‘Gender Equality and Women Empowerment: Issues and Challenges' held on 12^th April 2021. The Speaker was Dr. Samim Sofika Begum, College Inspector, Ajmal Group of Institutions.
